🎮 Breaking Free from Gaming Addiction: My Personal Story 🚫

Growing up, video games were a huge part of my life. From Dandy, Sega, Sony PlayStation, to PC, I spent endless hours gaming—especially during summer breaks as a kid. I even remember pulling all-nighters at computer clubs with friends, playing until the sunrise.

But things changed as I grew older.

For 5 years, I quit gaming entirely—no TV, no console. I focused on building my career instead. After achieving some milestones, I rewarded myself with a big TV and an Xbox Series X. I thought I could handle it, but gaming quickly took over.

My life and schedule started revolving around “game time.” Everything else—family, career, personal growth—came second. It felt off (felt like shit!) like something was deeply wrong. So, I stopped again, sold the Xbox, and haven’t looked back. Fuck this!

💡 Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Gaming, for many (myself included), can become an addiction. It feels harmless, but it can quietly consume your time and energy.
  • Life is too short to lose it to a virtual world when there are real joys to experience—with loved ones and within yourself.
  • If you’re struggling, know you’re not alone. There are resources like Game Quitters that can help you reclaim your time and focus.

For me, games are like narcotics—I steer clear because I know how easily they can pull me back in. But I’m open to talking about them because they were a huge part of my past, and I respect others’ experiences.

👉 What’s your relationship with gaming? Have you struggled with it, or found balance? Share your story—I’d love to hear it, and maybe we can start a meaningful conversation about gaming habits.
