Let’s face it—priorities are boring as hell, but they’re also the only thing that’ll save your ass when life (or work) gets tough. Everyone says it: “Focus on your priorities blah blah blah,” but they’re right. Especially in programming—or business—it’s the difference between getting somewhere or running in circles until you quit.
Take programming for example:
- Should you pick Frontend or Backend?
- Learn JavaScript, Python, Java, or Go?
- Dive into Machine Learning?
The options are endless, but your time sure as hell isn’t. You need to pick one or maybe two things and stick with them until you see results. Pivoting is fine, but don’t turn it into an excuse to jump ship every time shit gets boring. Because guess what? It will get boring. That’s normal. Push through, or you’ll end up quitting every damn time.
I’m saying this as much to myself as I am to you—because I’ve been there. Stuck. Frustrated. Ready to throw in the towel. But I’ve learned that staying the course pays off, even when it feels pointless in the middle.
So here’s my little reminder (for both of us):
Keep going. Stay strong. Don’t quit just because the grind feels boring. And most importantly—fuck computer games (because they eat your time).
Wishing you all a badass, productive, and Happy New Year! 🎉
